I can remember once coming down with Mr.

Dallin we came in January or February and in March, 1926. (Mr. Dallin reported in December, 1925, on the gen- eral accounts of the Registry and Official Receiver,

I can't remember going round the Supreme Court otherwise. A Treasury offical (Mr. Barton) was ordered

to come round.

Have you ever called for the Supreme Court

cash book for inspection?

I can only speak definitely to the two

occasions already mentioned. One of my officers was

instructed to see it. I only saw it on the two occasions. It was too big a job to go round all

departments. It would take a full time officer.

Have any instructions been given to change

the cash book?

I can't remember.

Don't you think I was justified in thinking

things were all right?

I think that as neither the Treasurer nor the

Auditor queried things you were justified in thinking things were all right.

Mr. Dallin was then asked by Mr. Nisbet whether he saw the

cash book when he came round in Juanuary and March.

To this he replied: "Yes, I saw the cash

book but not the bailiffs memorandum book.
